The Mix is a great website for young adults to get information and advice on a range of issues that might concern them, including:
- Their physical health
- Mental health
- Sexual health and relationships
- Alcohol and drugs
It is crucial at this stage that young people learn to make and attend their own health appointments. When they are 16 they are afforded the right to make their own health decisions (if they have mental capacity), and GPs will only share health information with the young person’s permission. This is a good time to encourage more independence in this area.
