Young people should read the NHS guidelines around phoning 999 – and alternative action that could be taken. Their website also gives appropriate first aid advice.
Teenagers might find themselves in an emergency situation caused by drug or alcohol use, and need to intervene to help a friend. FRANK has some very helpful advice that all teenagers should read.
Discuss with young people different situations they might find themselves in socially (e.g. lost during a night out on the town, being offered drugs by friends). Discuss what they can do if they feel uncomfortable or pressured, and where they can go for help.
