Social media and photographs of children

It is ISP’s policy that photographs of children in foster care should not be uploaded to any social networking site without the permission of both the child and their Local Authority Social Worker.

The use of emojis to disguise a child’s identity in a photo is not a safe option as these can be removed. It is also not safe to post photos of children in ‘closed’ or ‘secret’ Facebook groups.

Images posted on social media sites are insecure, and often the terms and conditions of the site give the site owners permission to use all images for their own purposes.
